January Tradeshow Recap

January was an energizing month for Visit Williamsburg as our team connected with industry partners nationwide and hosted tour operators closer to home. We participated in three major tradeshows—ABA Marketplace (Reno), Sports Express Conference (Fort Myers), and SYTA Summit (Virginia Beach)—each offering valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships and position the Historic Triangle as a premier group travel destination.

At ABA Marketplace, conversations with tour operators reinforced strong demand for destinations that combine history, education, and immersive experiences—areas where Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown consistently shine. The Sports Express Conference allowed us to engage with sports travel planners, highlighting Williamsburg’s central location, hotel inventory, and family-friendly attractions as ideal for tournaments and events.

Hosting SYTA Summit locally created meaningful engagement with domestic and international student travel planners. Following the Summit, Visit Williamsburg welcomed 15 tour operators on a post-SYTA FAM tour through the Historic Triangle, showcasing museums, attractions, dining, and group-friendly accommodations firsthand.

Together, these efforts reinforced the value of face-to-face engagement and partnership-building as we continue to drive visitation and long-term success for our destination.

A special thank you to our partners who helped bring these experiences to life through their outstanding hospitality and collaboration.
